The Descendants follows the story of Matt King, and his family's misfortune. Joanie King has been in a coma for 23 days after being in a motorboat accident. Matt, not used to handling his children, is at a loss. Scottie (10), is causing trouble, and the only way Matt knows to do is to bring back his other daughter, Alex (17), from boarding school. With the news of Joanie's impeding death, secrets are spilled, and family bonds are closer than ever.

Bryant Matthew Conquest, born August 24, has an older brother, Andrew, mother, Suzanne, and father Jeff. At the age of 10, Bryant, a popular YouTube sensationalist, was scouted by Hollywood Producer Jason Siner by the Agency for the Performing Arts (ADA). From there, he has been a co producer for many popular films including The Avengers (2012), Escape from Planet Earth (2013), Oz: The Great and Powerful (2013), Frozen (2013), and Transcendence (2014). The Descendants (2015) is the first movie he has directed. Bryant was a nominee for Best Animated Motion Picture 2013 for the movie Frozen, and nominated an On the Rise Producer 2012.
