This movie was alright. I was really looking forward to seeing Scottie making out with the mirror, but they took that out. Other than that, the actors were just as I had imagined while reading, and deciding to put Tom Cruise as Brian Speer was probably the best idea they made.

I loved this movie! It was so much like the book. I was glad that they left out the part about Scottie and Lani and their fighting. That is my least favorite part in the book so I am glad they left that out. Also I am happy that they didn't have the nanny in the movie because it was an added layer that was like totally not necessary.

It was a pretty good movie. I liked their casting, even though most of the actors did not look Hawaiian. I think it works for the most part, though, because in the book, the King family is described as not looking Hawaiian. The movie otherwise was stayed fairly true to the book. Though, as always, while a picture may be worth a thousand words, a movie is usually only worth half of a book.

The only good thing about this movie was George Clooney and Freddie Stroma. Like my favorite guys ever. Freddie Stroma especially really portrayed Sid well. He had the smile and stupid remarks down that the actor that plays Sid needs. That was perfect, but the rest of the movie sucked. I have no real good reason why but I just didn't like it because I didn't.
